Description
Community and faith based education programs and workshops aimed to increase awareness of the rates of diabetes among African Americans. The initiative educates this audience about the seriousness of diabetes and its complications by teaching the importance of making healthy lifestyle choices and educating those with or at risk for developing diabetes about prevention and management. Educational programs and workshops, such as "I Decide to Fight Diabetes Day" and "Project POWER" are important components of Live EMPOWERED.
