Voluntary health organization providing direct financial aid to needy kidney patients, transplant recipients, and donors to help cover specific treatment costs. Grants are available for: medication, transportation, emergency transient dialysis, special diet needs, etc. Applications available from nephrologist, renal social worker, or AKF regional office: 5 Dunwoody Park, Suite 110, Dunwoody, GA 30338. AKF also provides bilingual (Spanish) literature, supports education and donor program, and grants a nephrology fellowship. Call or write for more information.
