Scholarship Clubs
Taxonomy Code: HL-8000.7800
Programs that sponsor support groups which provide organized opportunities for students who are interested in applying for scholarships, fellowships, academic competitions or other forms of student financial aid to learn more about financial resources available to students at their level; discuss scholarship options with their parents (who may also be participants), their peers and people with expertise in the area; and develop competitive scholarship applications or other submissions with feedback and suggestions from other members of the group. Activities may include lectures or other presentations about a wide variety of scholarship acquisition topics and opportunities to share and discuss new discoveries they have made, options they are pursuing, difficulties they may be having or other aspects of their current projects. The objective of scholarship clubs is to help individual members obtain the financial support they require through a structured support system and a systematic approach to research and application development.
